Job Introduction

As a Food Safety Technologist, you will provide guidance and advice across the business in relation to Food Safety, whilst ensuring safety and legislation protocols are adhered to, which are paramount to put the customer at the heart of everything we do, aligning to the businesses' success.

As a Food Safety Technologist, you will:

  • Ensure compliance is adhered to against UK regulations within all food areas at Selfridges 
  • Ensure products sold in Selfridges comply with allergen legislation and Selfridges allergen management protocols 
  • Deliver multiple different training sessions across a range of stakeholders in the business
  • Ensure food complaints are investigated in line with procedures
  • Maintain quality assurance for suppliers, maintaining affective relationships with the B&M teams
  • Deliver an effective pest control program within food areas in the business 
  • To deliver and maintain an effective micro sampling schedule
  • Liaise with suppliers, Restaurant and Retail Operations, Buying and Merchandising to resolve queries with product specifications
  • Maintain effective communication between stakeholders within the business to ensure Food Safety compliance is adhered to 
  • Support the sustainability target at Selfridges by ensuring robust supplier assurance 

How you’ll do it…you will be:

  • Have a passion for Food Safety and Quality across a range of products and businesses
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with key stakeholders
  • Adaptable. You can multi-task, prioritize and work to tight deadlines, whilst maintaining attention to detail for Team Members at all levels
  • Have a strong sense of ownership and adaptability to follow tasks through to completion
  • A problem solver. You can apply different ways of thinking in different situations
  • Possess strong Microsoft Office and internal system skills
  • Intermediate Food Hygiene Level 3 HACCP (Preferred but not essential)
  •  Experience maintaining hygiene standards
  • Knowledge of food composition and nutrition
