A bit about the role

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

 

The Infrastructure Operations Manager is accountable for all infrastructure platforms,  Security operations and Asset management. This includes technical overview, team management, supplier relationship management and budget responsibility for the services managed.

 

The role is responsible for the operation of the technology underpinning Selfridges Platforms. This includes cloud hosting and modern server deployments, networks and communications, platform configuration and management, security, asset management and technology monitoring and analytics.

 

Responsible for Duty Manager on call, day to day maturing of the function to drive our platforms to deliver the activities, technologies and resources that facilitate and underpin our technology capabilities. Lead and grow the capabilities of the team. Support and drive the team to build, operate and assure best in class reliability, capacity and security across our platforms.

 

Facilitate and enable the move to cloud technologies, developing, implementing and operating best practice and evolving ways of working to take advantage of the improved technologies.

Manage partners, and budget and driving initiatives to review and recommend initiatives to improve/streamlines service and secure savings.

Collaborate with product leads / service delivery managers on any new projects/initiatives to support the overall business objectives.

Collaborate with IT peers to Design & Build a 24/7 Operations function, integrated with the IT Service Desk, which appropriately supports our business outcomes.

A bit about you

Significant experience as an Ops Manager or equivalent role within an omni-channel retail organisation or a leading Management Consultancy.

Awareness of Applications infrastructure in the following domains: Ecommerce, Buying & Merchandising, Logistics & Supply Chain, Finance, Omni-Channel Order Management, Customer Experience and Relationship Management (CRM).

Strong understanding of cloud computing (Azure, AWS, Google Oracle), including all delivery models;

Strong understanding of VMWare virtualisation, Microsoft products· Strong understanding of core infrastructure concepts (such as AD, DNS, routing, networking protocols)

Exposure to RedHat Linux and Windows Server operating Systems

Strong knowledge of LAN, WIFI, SD-WAN, Zscaler and telephony.

Awareness of best practice infrastructure standards including Networking and Server hardening.

Strong understanding of the software asset management processes

Experience of Security Operations including Vulnerability Management, Phishing, Threat Intelligence, End Point Detection, Dmarc, IPS/IDS, Bot Management, File Integrity and Security frameworks like Nist and ISO 271001.

Experience of a mixed complex estate including legacy systems

Experience in supporting project delivery involving both in-house and third-party design, development, testing and project management.

Resource management experience across BAU and Project work.

Strong Supplier management skills including supplier negotiation and supplier consolidation.

Understanding of different delivery lifecycles and service delivery methods will be beneficial, e.g. RUP, Agile, TDD, Waterfall, Prince2, ITIL.
