Job Introduction

With exclusive luxury goods and world-class customer service, Selfridges delivers an experience that’s second to none. But nothing would be possible without those working behind the scenes. Keeping invoices in order and building strong relationships with suppliers, you’ll reinforce our reputation.

A bit about the role

Sitting in the Leicester team, it’ll be down to you and the team to process all of our supplier invoices, keeping track of every transaction and logging every detail into the system for our Irish sister company - Brown Thomas. That means matching invoices to the relevant receipts and sorting out any issues that may be flagged up. It could be that a delivery has been made but there’s no invoice, or perhaps there’s an invoice but no delivery. Either way, you’ll make every effort to manage supplier expectations while at the same time maintaining complete accuracy of the accounts. While also volunteering for the occasional ad hoc tasks and you could be well on your way to a successful career in accounts management.

A bit about you

With strong numeracy skills and a GCSE (or equivalent) in Maths and English, you’ll have no problem dealing with a large volume of invoices. Success will come from your flair for detail, as well as your ability to prioritise and manage your own workload. And although we’ll give you all the training you need, basic computer skills are essential. But more than that, you’ll have a great work ethic and really enjoy teamwork.

A bit about us

Selfridges is a shop run on imagination: a place where the world’s most covetable brands combine with the most extraordinary spectacles, events and ideas for an experience like no other.

The story began when Harry Gordon Selfridge first arrived in London from Chicago in 1906 with his heart set on opening his dream store. With his revolutionary understanding of publicity and the theatre of retail, Selfridges Oxford Street opened its doors for the first time in 1909. The founder’s spirit of innovation and creativity lives on through its owners today. Since 2003, W. Galen Weston and his family have owned and operated the business, which now includes two stores in Manchester, one in Birmingham, plus selfridges.com and the Selfridges App which both deliver to over 130 countries.

In 2016 Selfridges was the first ever store to be awarded the title of ‘World’s Best Sustainability Campaign by a Department Store’ at the IGDS Global Department Store Summit, in-line with its focus on buying better and inspiring change. For an unprecedented three consecutive occasions in a row (2010, 2012 & 2014) Selfridges also won the coveted ‘Best Department Store in the World’ award, underlining its place at the forefront of retail.
