Job Introduction

As our Assistant Digital Styling Manager you will lead and implement the Selfridges creative vision through the execution and management of the Digital Photoshoots, ensuring that all styling is aspirational, on brand and Selfridges appropriate.Acting as a member of management within the Styling team, you will share knowledge, guide the Stylists and Assistants with the styling process and to support Styling Manager overseeing the team. Reporting into the Styling Manager you will support in all aspects of the studio process and being a point of contact in their absence. You will Inspire and educate the team developing individual’s skills, leading the team to deliver exceptional creative imagery.

A bit about the role

  • Manage Styling team and Hair Stylists alongside other Assistant Styling Managers, leading and encouraging their development through training, and feedback sessions.                                                                                                                        
  • Conduct 1:1’s and annual reviews for direct reports, retaining and developing key talent.
  • Sub edit product imagery, working to high-capacity daily deadlines to ensure all styling is dynamic, aspirational, on brand and in keeping with our in house style guides.
  • Maintain and update the Style Guides to ensure visual quality and consistency across all images.
  • Organise and lead training sessions and styling workshops with the styling team and wider photostudio department.
  • Daily morning and afternoon rail walk approval, signing off all looks with the stylist before being shot and minimising reshoots.
  • Hold Meet and Greets with New Starters/Freelancers, ensuring they are fully briefed in the studio processes.
  • Maintain New Starter Packs and update when any changes have been made.
  • Liaise with the Buying teams to ensure brand imagery is consistent with the business & brand vision.
  • Work closely with the Production and casting teams to ensure daily call sheet is updated and brand appropriate models.
  • Oversee daily ecommerce shoots, ensuring the creative styling vision is being executed and aligned.
  • Supporting with briefing in new season following shows and buying seasonal downloads, cascading the creative styling vision.
  • Leading weekly team meetings in the Styling Managers absence.
  • Driving team moral, implementing best practice and initiatives.
  • Working with other Assistant Styling Managers to lead the Styling team in the Styling Managers absence.
  • Liaising with photography, retouch, product and copy teams to ensure daily production targets are met and implement most efficient ways of working.
  • Work alongside Senior Production Coordinator and final QA for fashion, to ensure there is alignment on imagery expectations.
  • Conduct sample requests from brands and lead styling brand training sessions.
  • Various ad hoc duties, including training to flex across other brands within the group.
  • Managing studio consumables.
  • Lead and inspire, living the Selfridges values.

A bit about you

This role requires a person with excellent brand knowledge and a very strong creative visual focus, as well as possessing strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

 

  • Previous experience in a Styling Management  role
  • Excellent communication skills and confidence in giving direction
  • Strong fashion, editorial and brand/competitor knowledge
  • Luxury Ecommerce experience
  • A problem solver who is confident in decision making, organised and detail orientated.
  • Ability to influence, manage and develop junior members of the team
  • Confident and articulate ability to liaise with senior management and parallel departments.
  • Strong organisation skills, with a pro-active ‘can do’ attitude
  • Good time management within a busy and pressured environment
  • Flexibility with willingness to go the extra mile.
