Job Introduction

At Selfridges, our world-class service helps to make us the definitive shopping destination. Our customers expect the best and our team do too. Our outstanding HR department provides day-to-day support on a range of employment issues and if you’d enjoy the challenge of working for a world-famous luxury retailer, you could join them on an 12 months FTC project.

A bit about the role

Based at our Leicester offices, you’ll provide a world-class HR Administrative service across all of our stores and Head Office, supporting HR Administration teams.

That will involve anything from putting together and sending out welcome packs to new recruits, to checking employee references and responding to requests for them. You’ll deal with services for our existing employees – administering our healthcare benefits scheme, staff gym membership and applications for Season Tickets – and will keep all records up-to-date and in-line with Data Protection legislation. You’ll input new joiners, amendment to contracts and offer packs. You’ll also be proactive and flexible and focused on delivering the best service you possibly can.

You will be working closely with HR system business processes and answer to any queries. Being aware of SLA targets and audit requirements for HR administration services you will ensure that these are met through regular communication with the HR Admin Manager. You will maintain all HR filed, ensuring compliance with the Data Protection Act and being aware of the process for subject access requests and forthcoming GDPR.

A bit about you

We’re looking for someone with experience working in a high-volume and admin focused environment. You’ll certainly have good knowledge of Microsoft Office, as well as computerised HR systems and ideally be CIPP qualified. But just as important are your strong communication skills, and your solid customer focus. The ideal candidate is a confident team player with ability to work as a team.

A bit about us

We are a shop run on imagination: a place where the world’s most covetable brands combine with the most extraordinary spectacles, events and ideas for an experience like no other.

We have challenged the rules of retail from day one, whilst demonstrating our unwavering commitment to sustainability.  In 2016, we were the first to be awarded with recognition for the ‘World’s Best Sustainability Campaign by a Department Store’ at the IGDS Global Department Store Summit, in-line with its focus on buying better and inspiring change. We are also recognised as the Best Department Store in the World (2010, 2012, 2014 & 2018) underlining our place at the forefront of retail. In 2018 we were recognised as a LinkedIn Top Company to work for.

Our vision is to be the destination for the most extraordinary customer experience, and our people are central to us achieving this.  As an employer we are committed to making Selfridges an exciting, inspiring and fun place to work
