Job Introduction

When it comes to our products, we like to make sure our customers are spoilt for choice. So whether it involves the latest and greatest products or keeping popular items on the shelves, join us in the role of Assistant Buyer for the Body studio and it will be you that makes sure we’re always fully stocked.

A bit about the role

Working on The Body Studio department, with knowledge of Lingerie, Swim, and nightwear and fitness apparel you will assist the Assistant Buyer in the sourcing of our products. This fast paced role will involve negotiating with suppliers – so we’re looking for someone with the tenacity and resilience to secure the very best terms for the store. Strong relationships with merchandising and operations colleagues within the store will be key to using their insights as well as your own trend research to determine which brands are performing well, and to make recommendations on where we take our ranges next. Day-to-day duties will include loading orders onto our systems, chasing and checking deliveries, and resolving stock queries. You’re able to pick things up quickly and improve processes, while using your strong communication skills to liaise with suppliers.

A bit about you

  •          Strong attention to detail
  •          An organised and creative worker who excels in a fast paced environment
  •          A keen eye for the latest trends
  •          Strong Influencing skills
  •          Experience at a Buyers Assistant level

A bit about us

We are a shop run on imagination: a place where the world’s most covetable brands combine with the most extraordinary spectacles, events and ideas for an experience like no other.

We have challenged the rules of retail from day one, whilst demonstrating our unwavering commitment to sustainability.  In 2016, we were the first to be awarded with recognition for the ‘World’s Best Sustainability Campaign by a Department Store’ at the IGDS Global Department Store Summit, in-line with its focus on buying better and inspiring change. We are also recognised as the Best Department Store in the World (2010, 2012, 2014 & 2018) underlining our place at the forefront of retail. In 2018 we were recognised as a LinkedIn Top Company to work for.

Our vision is to be the destination for the most extraordinary customer experience, and our people are central to us achieving this.  As an employer we are committed to making Selfridges an exciting, inspiring and fun place to work.
