Job Introduction

Are you a Business Analyst who thrives in a highly energetic and results driven environment? Have you previously worked within a fast paced, creative team and are you currently looking for your next Business Analyst role? We are currently recruiting for a highly effective Business Analyst to join our existing team working in the heart of London's Oxford Street.

A bit about the role

The Business Analyst will be part of our  Product domain team and will assist the business stakeholders and interested parties to articulate, refine and communicate their business needs in response to a business problem or opportunity.

The role works closely with both business and IT colleagues to understand the business problem or opportunity. The Business Analyst analyses, documents and reviews the current ways of working, and then uses that information to define and validate the business requirements and business solutions design, with support from the Architecture team. The role is also responsible for working closely with third party suppliers to ensure that any chosen solution meet the business need.

A bit about you

You will come from a very strong business analysis background, and be passionate about driving business process solutions forward to support the successful delivery of complex projects or programmes. Experience in at least two of the following areas would be highly preferable:

  • Inventory management
  • Product content management
  • Buying and merchandising capabilities
  • Order management capabilities

Having experience of working in a dynamic, fast paced environment is essential, preferably in the retail industry.  Due to size of the organisation you will be working with colleagues at all levels so it is vital that you are a confident, eloquent and effective communicator at all levels.

Cultural fit is also very important for us, along with  the ability to manage small teams of up to 3  people.  We are looking for innovative individuals who are not afraid to think outside the box, individuals who can challenge the way things are being carried out for the better.

A bit about us

Selfridges is a shop run on imagination: a place where the world’s most covetable brands combine with the most extraordinary spectacles, events and ideas for an experience like no other.

The story began when Harry Gordon Selfridge first arrived in London from Chicago in 1906 with his heart set on opening his dream store. With his revolutionary understanding of publicity and the theatre of retail, Selfridges Oxford Street opened its doors for the first time in 1909. The founder’s spirit of innovation and creativity lives on through its owners today. Since 2003, W. Galen Weston and his family have owned and operated the business, which now includes two stores in Manchester, one in Birmingham, plus selfridges.com and the Selfridges App which both deliver to over 130 countries.

In 2016 Selfridges was the first ever store to be awarded the title of ‘World’s Best Sustainability Campaign by a Department Store’ at the IGDS Global Department Store Summit, in-line with its focus on buying better and inspiring change. For an unprecedented three consecutive occasions in a row (2010, 2012 & 2014) Selfridges also won the coveted ‘Best Department Store in the World’ award, underlining its place at the forefront of retail.
