Job Introduction

The Selfridges Group team works across Selfridges Group subsidiaries: Selfridges & Co in the UK, Brown Thomas & Arnotts in Ireland, de Bijenkorf in the Netherlands and Holt Renfrew in Canada. The Group People team is a strategic department within Selfridges Group.

The Group People team is responsible for leading large-scale People projects at the Group level, working in close collaboration with our subsidiary businesses. The key to our success is in delivering projects which are directly value-adding to the businesses, as well as providing strategic thought leadership.

The Group People Project Specialist is a key position within the Group People Team. The role runs group-wide projects, many of which have a high profile and touch many stakeholders. They are involved in all areas of People project management from stakeholder engagement to design and delivery. They also ensure projects are managed and rolled out according to agreed timescales.

A bit about the role

The projects within the team are constantly evolving, therefore the Project Specialist would need to be flexible to taking on projects as required. But as currently these are the key projects.

 

1. Cross Group Mobility

  • Advise a team of project leads from across the businesses to ensure consistency with the communication, implementation and facilitation of all mobile candidates
  • Manage the communication and promotion of the programme cross group
  • Create and deliver programme collateral such as manager guides, employee guides, city guides etc.
  • Manage the relocation of all cross group moves and the lifecycle of secondment relocations from initiation to repatriation (e.g. pension, letter of assignments, accommodation search etc.)
  • Manage the engagement of the cross-group talent pool
  • Ensure all policies and guidelines adhere to the Netherlands, Canada, Ireland and United Kingdom employment laws
  • Ensure mobile candidates are compliant with visa requirements in their host country
  • Manage the bonus process for all mobility candidates and coordinate with home and host companies to ensure accurate payouts and charge backs
  • Deliver monthly progress report to Managing Director

 

2.Group wide communications:

  • Project manage the publication of the group wide newsletter on a quarterly basis
  • Advise a team of 4 Communication leads across the businesses for each edition
  • Create and design CRM platform content
  • Propose newsletter and banner content themes to Deputy Chairman
  • Write or contribute to the writing and editing of articles
  • Work with platform developers to ensure functionality cross group
  • Work with creative designer in creating engaging content
  • Manage stakeholders across the business for content and platform approvals
  • Report on newsletter analytics of quarterly send out to propose content improvements and platform upgrades

 

3. Group Website:

  • Develop and maintain the new Selfridges Group careers page and online employer brand
  • Develop and manage the delivery of cross group mobility page on group website
  • Support business leads in ensuring all platforms are connected to one another across our group
  • Work closely with website provider in ensuring website is up to date and communicate any changes as necessary
  • Manage the LinkedIn contract for the European businesses  
  • Support the maintenance of Selfridges Group LinkedIn page and for the banners when necessary


OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Drive engagement in the Group Central team, co-chairing a cross-functional Working Group responsible for creating a positive workplace environment.
  • Manage recruitment processes for roles in the Group team from sourcing and interviewing to coordinating subsequent assessment rounds when required
  • Manage the on-boarding process for new team members
  • Support the team leader with People team budget

A bit about you

  • At least 4-5 years of experience in HR with exposure to specialist areas e.g. mobility, communications, talent etc.
  • Previous experience in managing large-scale projects across multiple geographies
  • Experience working in a Group setting whilst having to work with local teams and different cultures
  • Experience with processing visa applications including the completion of Labour Market tests and understanding government immigration legislations   
  • Experience managing company-wide communications
  • Experience working with website analytics, design and content development
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office tools
